About the Artist

Barry Stebbing was born in Baltimore, MD in 1946. All his life he has been involved in the fine arts attending Maryland Institute of Art as a painting major, receiving an art education degree from Salisbury University and doing graduate painting studies with the University of Georgia in Cortona, Italy. Barry also studied portrait painting in Montreal.

In 1990, Barry Stebbing and a Dutch artist took off and painted the back roads of America, completing three oils in each state along with an extensive series of smaller pastels and watercolors along with daily journal entries.

Likewise, Mr. Stebbing has spent several seasons painting the colorful landscapes of Tuscany and southern France. Currently, the artist resides in McFarlan, North Carolina where he has constructed his gallery/studio on a spacious farm. Most of Barry's works are done in oils or pastels. His paintings have been exhibited in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Tuscany, Baltimore, and Chestertown, MD.
